We're thrilled to have Tim Webber furniture featured in the 2025 Home of the Year winner, Bunker House, designed by Chris Tate. This striking home exemplifies a seamless blend of sculpture and architecture, pushing boundaries in materiality and engineering. Set on a highly visible site, the project took 14 years to complete, with roughly seven years dedicated to design and another seven to construction. Tate and his overseas client meticulously debated every detail — from cladding to the kitchen — ensuring the home's vision was never compromised.

Though modest in size at 150 square meters (including a generous deck), the house’s bold and unapologetically masculine design gives it the feel of a modern bunker, perfect for a cinematic villain. Despite its strong, angular aesthetic, Bunker House was built to passive house standards, making it both daring and planet-friendly.

Inside, the cave-like atmosphere continues, with almost every surface a sleek black, accented by metallic finishes. The raw steel kitchen bench, anchored on one end and cantilevered on the other, is a true statement piece — reflecting the attention to detail that runs throughout the home. Natural stone elements and glass partitions with metallic mesh add texture and contrast to the dark, moody space, while hidden storage and laundry facilities maintain clean, uninterrupted lines.

This home is a testament to the power of design, and we’re honoured to see our furniture featured in such an iconic and thoughtfully executed project.
