Contemporary addition to a classic Villa

A striking transformation to the rear of this classic Grey Lynn villa earned itself a GOLD at the 2018 New Zealand Master Builder Home Of The Year awards. The renovation delightfully retains the traditional villa at the road front, then transitions into a clean, black clad, modern box form at the rear of the house.

The stunning kitchen is a striking mix of completely black joinery and bench top, paired with oak timber shelves which 'pop' against the black wall. Our Wrap Stools in black frame with natural beech seat tops were chosen to beautifully complement the elegant kitchen space. The black frame and natural seat superbly highlights the wrapping interaction between the seat and the powdercoated frame.

Sharp Juxtaposition

This fully cantilevered extension protrudes over a sunken fire pit and outdoor entertaining area, which can also be fully enclosed by sliding glass doors.

The Wrap Stools are a sophisticated design constructed from 12mm steel rod with a European Beech plywood seat. The stools feature in the WM Series which displays the relationship between wood and metal seamlessly in a single piece. This relationship is evident in the way the edge of the plywood seat embraces the bent steel, as well as the steel wrapping around the front and back of the seat.
