Dolly
Dolly by Studio John Irving Architects is a considered reworking of an inner-city Auckland villa, retaining the original heritage façade while creating something entirely contemporary behind it.
Centred around an internal courtyard, the home is effortlessly calming, with natural light, greenery and a restrained natural palette bringing softness to the architecture. It features our Series Sofa as part of this resolved home.

The Series Sofa balances bold, solid forms with a low, grounded base, lending it a presence that is both architectural and inviting. A range of modules allows the sofa to be configured into L-shapes, extended runs or back-to-back arrangements, offering true versatility in the way it inhabits a space, and the freedom, if specified, to be reconfigured at will.
Beneath its confident scale lies a refined attention to detail, from the precise stitch work wrapping the arms to the carefully resolved proportions throughout. These subtle gestures bring a sense of craft and intention to the design, ensuring the Series feels as thoughtfully made up close as it is striking from across the room.
